What we do
French drains redirect water away from the foundation and landscaping, preventing erosion, flooding and moisture build-up. If part of the yard stays wet for days after a storm, or water runs toward the house instead of away from it, a drain fixes the cause.
We assess the property to determine the placement and design for the drain system, considering soil type, slope and the existing drainage patterns, and install it with materials and methods built to keep working for years.
Flat lots, a high water table and compacted fill under newer homes mean water sits. Add a roofline dumping hundreds of gallons in an afternoon storm and the low spot by the lanai turns into a pond. A French drain collects that water below the surface and carries it to where it can soak away.
The best drainage jobs start at the roof. We look at where the gutters send the water, where the downspouts release it, and where the ground takes it, then design the drain to close the loop. Often the fix is a drain plus a couple of downspout extensions, not a bigger drain.

A gravel-filled trench with a perforated pipe that collects water below the surface and carries it away to a spot where it can drain safely. It is the standard fix for a yard that holds water or sends it toward the house.
We look at the soil, the slope, where the water collects and where it can be released, and route the drain to intercept the water before it reaches the foundation or the low spot.
Sometimes extensions alone solve it. If the water is coming off the roof and pooling at the wall, carrying it clear may be enough. If the yard itself holds water, a drain is the answer. We tell you which on site.
Trenching is part of the job, but we restore the grade and leave the yard tidy. Sod and plantings are put back where the trench runs.
